Visit of the Ambassador of the French Republic to Russia to IE RAS

On April 17, 2018, the Ambassador of the French Republic to Russia Mdm. Sylvie Bermann visited IE RAS.
In his welcome speech IE RAS Director, RAS Corresponding member Аl.А. Gromyko told the audience about the diplomatic career of Mdm. Bermann, who, prior to Moscow, headed the French diplomatic missions in Beijing and London.
Mdm. Sylvie Bermann presented her vision of the current state of French-Russian relations, focusing on various aspects, including those, which Paris and Moscow disagree on.
Participants of the meeting – experts in French studies from leading Moscow universities, research centers, RAS institutes, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign affairs and Association of the friends of France – took part in a vivid discussion. Mdm. Sylvie Bermann gave thorough answers to the questions of the audience.
