First international forum of university towns

On November 23-25, 2016, Deputy Director IE RAS V.B. Belov took part in First international forum of university towns, organized by Tomsk State University and Tomsk region government.

Representatives of Russian and European universities, experts in urban development and business consultants from Russia, France, Spain, Germany, UK, Norway discussed the regularities, trends and opportunities for university towns development.

V.B. Belov moderated case-conference «Best practices of university towns», covering nine examples of interaction of universities with urban environments (http://www.tsu.ru/upload/iblock/city-forum_programm%20ru_.pdf ). Besides, in open discussion space with students and forum participants he conducted interactive discussion «Contemporary challenges of student towns».
