Dahrendorf Symposium 2016: Europe and the World – Global Insecurity and Power Shifts

On May 25-27, 2016, IE RAS Director Аl.А. Gromyko took part in the international symposium – final event of Ralf Dahrendorf forum in Berlin.

Dahrendorf forum is a joint initiative of Hertie School of Governance (Berlin), London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and Stiftung Mercator (Germany), supporting scientific and practical projects in social and humanitarian spheres. In the course of «Europe and the world» project the forum organizes a series of open international debates on relations of Europe with five major regions: China, Middle East, North America, Russia and Ukraine, Turkey.

Аl.А. Gromyko participated in the podium discussion «Global transformations of power – consequences for Europe», moderated by Ambassador Wolfgang Ischinger, Chairman of Munich Security Conference. Al.А. Gromyko presented expert evaluation of current changes of the world order and their consequences for Europe, that was followed by opinion exchange with prominent experts and politicians, including R. Sikorsky (Harvard University), S. Babst, Chief Strategic Policy Analyst to NATO Secretary-General; Prof. W. Wallfort (Dartmouth College, Hanover) etc.
