International conference «Baltic Studies in Russia»

IE RAS Director, RAS Professors Council Chairman Аl.А. Gromyko took part in the international conference «Baltic Studies in Russia», held on April 22, 2016, in Kant Baltic Federal University in Kaliningrad.
The event was organized by: Russian Association of Baltic Studies (RABS), Russian Association of Political Sciences (RAPS), Institute of Europe RAS, Russian International Affairs Council (RIAC). Welcome addresses were delivered by: BFU President А.P. Klemeshev, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Lithuanian Republic А.I. Udaltzov, RAPS N.М. Меzhevich.
The conference provided the following round table discussions.
- «Economy and Economic Geography». Moderators: Director of the Institute of Natural Resources, Territorial and Urban Development of Kant BFU G.М. Fedorov, deputy Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of Russian Federation in the Northwest Federal District V.А. Soloviev.
- «Current Political Processes in the Eastern Part of the Baltic Sea and Baltic States». Moderators: Аl.А. Gromyko, professor of SPSU К.К. Khudoley.
- «Baltic States: New and Newest History Studies» Moderators: N.S. Andreeva, Saint Petersburg Institute of History RAS, Director of Historical Memory Foundation А.R. Dyukov.
- «Russian-Belorussian Cooperation in the Turbulent Eastern Europe».
- «Prospects of Baltic Studies». Moderators: N.М. Mezhevich, А.R. Dyukov.
Reports were delivered by leading experts in Baltic studies, history, political and social sciences from Russia, Lichtenstein, Hungary, Belgium, Poland, Estonia and Lithuania.
A meeting of the «Science and Education» working group of the «Petersburg Dialogue» Forum was held with reports of: Аl.А. Gromyko, А.P. Кlemeshev, Co-chairman of the «Science and Education» working group of the «Petersburg Dialogue» Forum Wilfred Bergmann, President of Friends of Kant and Königsberg Society Gerfried Horst etc.
Attributed to the University Day, a ceremonial meeting of Kant BFU Academic Council was held with presentation of Government and State awards, and Honorary professor title to RAS Corresponding member М.V. Kovalchuk.
