On October 28, 2016, IE RAS Director Аl.А. Gromyko took part in the international conference «National reconciliation and future of Syria», organized by the Institute of Eastern Studies, RAS.
The current situation in Syria was discussed by: Scientific head of IES RAS, Academician V.V. Naumkin, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, director of Civilization partnership center of MGIMO University V.V. Popov, British political scientist, director of Conflicts Forum Alastair Crooke and other Russian and foreign experts in Eastern studies, diplomats, economists, including representatives of the Syrian party.
