On February 16, 2017, in Moscow Central House of Scientists, IE RAS Director, RAS Corresponding member Al.A. Gromyko took part in the presentation of RAS Gold medals for outstanding achievements in scientific knowledge promotion «Scientific achievements of Russia».  

On February 16, 2017, Valery Zhuravel, leading scientific associate of IE RAS Centre for Northern Europe participated in the 2-nd international conference «Acrtic Region -2017. Shelf projects and sustainable development», held by the think-tank under the auspices of the Russian Government.

On February 16, 2017, IE RAS Director, RAS Corresponding member Al.A. Gromyko participated in the international conference as the Expert Council Chairman of the Institute of linguistic, civilizational and migration studies, «Russkiy Mir» Foundation.  

IE RAS presents Working paper №1, 2017 (№27) «Russia and Europe in the context of US presidential elections» (in English) by Mikhail Nosov, RAS Corresponding member, Deputy Director of IE RAS.

On February 11, 2017, Russian Prime-minister Dmitri Medvedev signed a decree naming five previously unnamed Kuril Islands. One of the Islands was named after Andrey Gromyko, a prominent diplomat and public official.

IE RAS Director, RAS Corresponding member Al.A. Gromyko participated in the program «Observer» devoted to the Day of Russian Diplomats on «Russia Kultura» TV Channel.

On February 10, 2017, IE RAS Director, RAS Corresponding member Al.A. Gromyko participated in the program «International Review», «Russia 24» TV channel.

IE RAS presents Analytical paper №4, 2017 (№77) «Russia and Europe in the context of US elections» (in Russian) by Mikhail Nosov, Corresponding member RAS, Deputy Director IE RAS.

The UK House of Commons passed the bill allowing Prime minister to launch Brexit process in accordance with Art. 50 of the Lisbon Treaty. The law enjoyed successful vote of the lower chamber in the 3^rd reading.  

IE RAS presents Analytical paper №3, 2017 (№76) «On «special relationship» of UK and USA in the era of changes» (in Russian) by Kira Godovanyuk, senior scientific associate of IE RAS Center for British Studies.

On February 8, 2017, Vladimir Sсhveytzer, Head of IE RAS Department of social and political studies, Boris Guseletov, leading scientific associate of the Department and Ekaterina Timoshenkova, deputy Head of IE RAS Centre for German studies participated in the discussion on future leaders of Europe at the program «Pravo Golosa», TVCentre channel.

On February 7, 2017, Vladimir Schveytzer, Head of IE RAS Department of social and political studies participated in the program «In the circle of light» on the radio «Echo of Moscow». The program was dedicated to the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Germany and France.

On February 2, 2017, IE RAS Director, RAS Corresponding Member Al.A. Gromyko and Dmitri Danilov, Head of IE RAS Department of European Security, took part in the round table discussion "US-Russia relations under the new US administration", held by the International Affairs Committee of the Russian Federation Council.

On January 26, 2017, Deputy IE RAS Director V.B. Belov took part in Moscow – Berlin videobridge «The Trump factor in the European politics. Views from Moscow and Berlin», organized by MIA «Russia today».

On January 24, 2017, IE RAS Director, RAS Corresponding member Аl.А. Gromyko took part in the Scientific Council of the Russian Government Financial University and delivered the speech on «Europe in the XXI century: possibilities and risks».
