IE RAS presents Analytical papers of IE RAS No 27, 2024 «The necessity and preconditions for a new route of Russian oil exports through Iran to the Indian ocean» (in Russian) by Envarbik Fazelyanov, Candidate of Science (Economics), Leading researcher, Economic Research Department of the Institute of Europe of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.

The main reason for the idea of building a new oil pipeline through Iran is Russia's turn in its foreign trade towards East and South against the backdrop of Western anti-Russian sanctions. The task to increase Russian exports demands a construction of new oil pipelines – the most reliable and cheapest means to transport this valuable energy resource.
