Political symposium in Austria

On August 27-29, 2017, IE RAS Director, RAS Corresponding member Аl.А. Gromyko represented Russia in a political symposium in Alpbach, Austria in the course of the European Forum.

This Forum has for many years been the principal international event in the scientific and social life of Austria. The event was opened by Austrian President А. Van der Bellen. Аl.А. Gromyko took part in a plenary podium discussion «USA, EU and Russia: consequences of election of a new American president». The discussion was moderated by T. Mayr-Harting, Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia, deputy of High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini. Among other speakers were: Т. Gram, Executive director of Kissinger Associates; Ambassador Kurt Walker, special representative of D. Trump for Ukraine; B. Stevens, Chairman of EU committee on politics and security.
