Discussion on Russian-German relations in Magdeburg, meeting with Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel

On October 6, 2016, IE RAS Deputy Director V.B. Belov took part in discussion on Russian-German relations in the context of European security. The discussion took place in Magdeburg during the 16th Federal congress of delegates of the Union of senior members of Christian Democratic Union. Various aspects of current Russian-German cooperation, and possible spheres of coaction in solving a number of international problems, were discussed.
On October 7 the congress heard the speech on CDU Chairman, Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel. After the speech the Chancellor had a short meeting with V.B. Belov, who presented the German version of collective monograph «Modern Germany: economy and politics», published in 2015 by IE RAS together with «Ves mir» publishing house (Deutschlandversteher. Russlands wissenschaftliche Elite schaut auf das heutige, moderne Deutschland. Wegweiser Verlag. Berlin 2015).
