European Congress of local governments in Krakow

On March 27-28, 2017, leading scientific associate IE RAS B.P. Guseletov took part in European Congress of local governments in Krakow, organized by the Institute of Eastern European Studies (Poland) with support of the EU program «Europe for citizens».
The event was attended by several hundreds of representatives of local governments, regional authorities, scientists, experts and journalists from 32 countries, including Germany, France, USA, Australia, Russia etc. Around 80 panel discussions and round tables were held on 7 subjects: finance, economy, innovations, society, environment, business, tourism and local government. The final day was devoted to the plenary session «Development of cooperation between regions through solidarity and redistribution of tax burden».
B.P. Guseletov took part in the round table «Local integration of immigrants – challenges and best practices», attended by representatives from Poland, Macedonia, Finland, Austria and Ukraine. IE RAS representative shared the experience of Russian local authorities in working with immigrants.
