International conference «The US and Europe: renewing the Transatlantic Partnership»

On September 16-18, 2016, IE RAS Director Аl.А. Gromyko participated in the international conference «The US and Europe: renewing the Transatlantic Partnership» in Long Island, New York, organized by The Ditchley Foundation and its American affiliate headed by Strobe Talbott.

The debates were opened by the patriarch of American diplomacy Henry Kissinger and former US Finance Minister Lawrence Summers. For three days, experts from USA, UK, Germany, Turkey, France, Romania, Poland, Norway and other countries discussed the problems and prospects of relations between the US and their allies, cooperation with other European states and regions of the world. Parallel sessions of working groups on political relations, economic, technological and financial ties, security and foreign policy were held. The participants focused on the issues of Brexit, transatlantic trade and investment partnership, migration crisis, upcoming US Presidential elections.
