New edition of the «White book» of German Federal Defense Ministry

Deputy IE RAS Director, Head of Center for German Studies V.B. Belov and deputy Head of the Center Е.P. Timoshenkova gave interviews to several Russian mass media in relation to the new edition of the «White book» of German Federal Defense Ministry.
On June 4, 2016, political editor of "Die Welt" newspaper Thorsten Ungholt published the article (http://www.welt.de/politik/deutschland/article155952158/Das-sind-die-groessten-Risiken-fuer-Deutschlands-Sicherheit.html ), stating that German Federal Defense Ministry prepared 80-page edition of the "White book" on security policy, where Russia is in the list of ten major challenges to FRG, in the capacity of a rival, not a partner.
IE RAS associates in their interviews outlined that the "White book" is more of a declaration by nature, a statement of the security priorities, which, in opinion of the military experts, the official Berlin should use as practical guidelines.
