Visit of Rosa Luxemburg Foundation delegation

On October 5, 2017, IE RAS hosted Rosa Luxemburg Foundation delegation (Germany). The meeting was held by IE RAS Director, RAS Corresponding member Al.A. Gromyko and Deputy IE RAS Director V.B. Belov.
Аl.А. Gromyko greeted the delegation head Wolfgang Gerke – famous German politician and long-time Bundestag deputy of the «Left» party; Kerstin Kaiser – head of the Foundation’s affiliate in Russia; Christiane Reimann – expert of the «Left» party; Michael Schlik – assistant of the left fraction chairman Sahra Wagenknecht; Hartmut Huber – assistant of W. Gerke. Аl.А. Gromyko gave his opinion on Bundestag election results, their impact on the internal and external policy of Germany, the EU and Russian-German relations.
During the meeting the participants discussed various issues, including the prospects of scientific cooperation between IE RAS and Rosa Luxemburg Foundation in 2018. Wolfgang Gerke and Christiane Reimann presented their book «Germany and Russia – how to move ahead? Exit out of the German-Russian crisis» as a gift to IE RAS. Аl.А. Gromyko thanked the German guests and invited them to participate in IE RAS 30th anniversary celebration events in November 2017.
