On March 31, 2017, IE RAS Director, RAS Corresponding member Аl.А. Gromyko presented a speech at the conference «Acute aspects of securing national security of the Russian Federation», attributed to the 25th anniversary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation (SCRF).
The conference, chaired by SCRF Secretary N.P. Patrushev, was attended by members of SCRF Scientific Council, previously formed by Decree of the Russian President, representatives of ministries and agencies, heads of universities and scientific institutions. The speech of Al.A. Gromyko was devoted to foreign political developments of the newest history, challenges and threats to national security. The report of MSU Moscow School of Economics Director, RAS Academician А.D. Nekipelov disclosed the role of strategic planning of social and economic development in securing national security. President of MGIMO University, RAS Academician А.V. Тorkunov devoted his speech to integration processes in the CIS area. Besides, the participants discussed the role of modern technologies in international information security and major fields of international cooperation in fighting transnational organized crime.
