Conference «Modern Italy: Old Problems, New Challenges»

On March 17, 2016, IE RAS held the conference attributed to the 155th anniversary of unified Italian state – «Modern Italy: Old Problems, New Challenges», enriched by the report on globalization and economic processes and their impact of welfare of countries and world regions presented by Italian economist and professor, former deputy Minister of Italian Economy and Senator Mario Baldassarri.
The report was followed by presentation of the new book by T.V. Zonova “History of the Foreign Policy of Italy”. As of today, this is the only book in Russian, covering the development of the country’s foreign policy since its establishment as a unified state to the present days.
The second part of the conference consisted of the reports on various aspects of Italian internal and foreign political life. Each report was followed by a lively discussion. The event was moderated by Head of IE RAS Center for British Studies Е.V. Ananieva and senior scientific associate of IE RAS Department of the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Studies Е.А. Maslova.
