On April 14, 2016 Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) held 4th All-Russian scientific and practical conference «Strategic Management in the Sphere of National Security of Russia: Provision of National Interests and Realization of Strategic Priorities». In the plenary session the participants heard reports of: Deputy Secretary of Russian Security Council V.P. Nazarov, Russian Foreign Ministry’s Ombudsman for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law К.К. Dolgov, as well as representatives of RANEPA and other Moscow universities.
The conference continued in the form of expert seminars and round tables, devoted to current problems of the national security of Russia, conflicts and migration processes in the national security strategy of Russia. Leading scientific associate of IE RAS Center for Northern European Studies V.P. Zhuravel presented his report «20 Years of the Arctic Council: Prospects of International Cooperation in the Far North» at the round table «Strategic Directions of Russian Arctic Policy». The report was devoted to the Arctic Council activity, first results of Russian State Commission on Arctic Development, as well as various aspects of current Arctic strategy and policy of European states. The reporter outlined the negative impact of sanctions on exploration and development of the Arctic region.
