Forum «Youth in public diplomacy: prospects of German-Russian relations»

On October 20-23, 2016, in Berlin the forum «Youth in public diplomacy: prospects of German-Russian relations» was held. IE RAS was represented by: Deputy Director V.B. Belov (moderation of the section «Youth against the stereotype thinking)», deputy Head of Center for German Studies Е.P. Timoshenkova (report «New dimensions for the culture of dialogue – the role of youth»), leading scientific associate of Department of Economic Studies N.V. Govorova (report «Peculiarities of youth migration»).
The conference was opened by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Germany V.М. Grinin. The discussion was shared by Chairman of the Union of Russian speaking organizations of Germany L.G. Yurchenko, manager of CDU/CSU parliamentary fraction and Chairman of German-Russian parliamentary group Bernhard Kaster, special representative of Russian President on international cultural cooperation М.Е. Shvydkoy.
Participants of the forum discussed the state and prospects of development of bilateral youth cooperation, the role of mass media in Russian-German relations, possibilities of Russian-German youth exchange etc. The event was organized by: the Union of Russian compatriots, IE RAS, Russian Embassy to FRG, Russkiy Mir Foundation and German-Russian Forum.
