On October 21, 2016, Head of IE RAS Center for British Studies, RAS expert E.V. Ananieva delivered the lecture «Brexit: causes of the referendum and its effects for UK and EU» at the Faculty of Political Science of Bordeaux University (France).
The lecture disclosed the referendum causes, inter- and intraparty referendum struggle in UK, US and EU positions, voting results and its political effects. Students were interested in the referendum as a form of direct participation of citizens in political life of the country, and proportion of direct and representative democracy.
