Participation of V.B. Belov in Germany-related events

On March 14-16, 2017, Deputy IE RAS Director V.B. Belov took part in a number of events devoted to Germany and Germany-Russia relations.
 
On March 14, V.B. Belov moderated round table  «University 3.0», timed to the visit of Mayor of Belin M. Muller to Moscow. The event was organized by the German House of Science and Innovation in Moscow (headed by P. Hiller) and the Coordination Office of the Free University of Berlin in Moscow (headed by T. Studemann).
 
Vice-President of Moscow State University of Civil Engineering E. Gogina, Vice-President for Innovative International Projects of the Russian State University for the Humanities V. Zabotkin and Head of the Department of Science and Research of the German Embassy M. Dobias also took part in the discussion along with T. Studdemann. A new format of higher education institutions was discussed, as well as the institutions’ profiling for successful research, education and innovations, prospects for digitalization of the learning process and Germany-Russia cooperation in higher education and research. Before the event, V. Belov and M. Muller had a brief conversation covering major activities of IE RAS and Center for German Studies.





On March 15, in the Historical Perspective Foundation as a part of project «Russian-European Political Workshop» (http://evropazavtra.ru/budushhaya-lekciya/germaniya-v-period-partiyno-politiches). V.B. Belov read the online lecture «Germany in the time of political-party transformations» (See video and presentation). The lecture was broadcasted on the Internet. After the lecture, V.B. Belov answered participants' questions.

On March 15, Head of the Political Department of German Embassy in Moscow H. Knirsch invited V.B. Belov and Deputy Head of IE RAS Center for German studies E.P. Timoshenkova to the meeting with the delegation of members of the lower house of Bundestag, headed by Chairman of the Committee for European Community Affairs G. Krichbaum. Various political and economic cooperation issues between Russia and Germany were discussed, i.e. prospects in light of the Ukrainian crisis. V.B. Belov and E.P. Timoshenkova invited deputies to participate in scientific conferences of IE RAS.

On March 16, in the residence of the Ambassador of Germany V.B. Belov participated in the reception, dedicated to the visit of Bavarian delegation to Moscow. V.B. Belov had a chance to meet Prime Minister of Bavaria, Chairman of CSU party H. Seehofer. V.B. Belov briefly described the work of IE RAS and its scientific cooperation with Germany.
