The videobridge was devoted to the agreement, reached on March 18 in Brussels during the EU–Turkey summit. According to it, the illegal immigrants that entered Greece by sea from Turkey, are subject to extradition from the EU since April 4, 2016. In exchange, the EU will receive legal refugees from Turkey. This "deal" will cost the EU 6 bln euros and a promise to ease the visa regime and fasten Turkey’s admission to the EU. The migration crisis is evolving along with the new threats and challenges to the European security. Terrorist acts in Brussels, just 4 months after the ones in Paris, urge to elaborate new norms in both migration and antiterrorist spheres. But they will be efficient only if the global community unites its efforts.
The event was attended by assistant professor N. Topornin (MGIMO University, Moscow), professor G. Gürbey (Free University, Berlin) and analyst Dr Andreas Behr (Germany). Videobridge host – О. Buryak.
