On April 9, 2016, deputy IE RAS Director, Head of Center for German Studies V.B. Belov took part in "Who threatens Russia" discussion on TVC TV channel, devoted to the main external political threats, that Russia is facing in 2016. According to Valdai Club experts, they include the relations of Moscow with Ankara and Washington, as well as the threat of our country being involved into the Sunni – Shia conflict.

On April 7, 2016, chief scientific associate of IE RAS Department of European Security, RAS Professor A. Sindeev delivered the report on “The Role of Anti-Soviet Propaganda of Western German Politicians in Building the European Security System at the Start of the Cold War" at the round table discussion, devoted to the Cold War history, organized by the History Chair of Bauman Moscow State Technical University.

On April 4, 2016, deputy IE RAS Director V.B. Belov and Head of Center for Ecology and Development S.А. Roginko took part in Russian-German conference "Waste Treatment: Management, Financing, Organization", organized by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of RF, German Society for International Cooperation and Federal Ministry of Ecology, Nature Preservation, Construction and Safety of Reactors (Germany).

On April 1, 2016, deputy IE RAS Director V.B. Belov took part in the Russian-German videobridge "New Threats and Challenges of the European Union: Illegal Migration and Terrorism. Ways of Minimization", held in the international multimedia center "Moskva".

On March 29-30, 2016, the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation held the international conference «The European Security Architecture: Cooperation Prospects», chaired by S.А. Ordzhonikidze, Vice-President of the Chamber, Chairman of the Russian Public Council on International Cooperation and Public Diplomacy of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. The conference was organized by: the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, the Institute for International Studies of MGIMO University with participation of the Geneva Center for Humanitarian Dialogue.

During her trip to Novosibirsk, Deputy IE RAS Director Dr. Olga Butorina gave an interview to "Russia 24" TV channel on economic prospects of Russia and the European Union.

On March 17, 2016, IE RAS held the conference attributed to the 155^th anniversary of unified Italian state – «Modern Italy: Old Problems, New Challenges», enriched by the report on globalization and economic processes and their impact of welfare of countries and world regions presented by Italian economist and professor, former deputy Minister of Italian Economy and Senator Mario Baldassarri.

On March 14, 2016 deputy IE RAS Director V.B. Belov along with Research Director of the German-Russian Forum А. Rahr (Berlin) and social figure, artist D. Vrubel (Berlin) participated in Radio Svoboda dialogue on the results of landtag elections in three federal lands, that took place the day before.

On March 10, 2016, IE RAS held presentation of the new book by A. Plakans «Brief History of the Baltic States» in the series «National History» of «Ves Mir» publishing house. The event summoned experts from IE RAS, Institute of General History RAS, Institute of Russian History RAS, IMEMO RAS n.a. Е.М. Primakov, MSU, RSUH, Financial Academy, MGIMO University, Diplomatic Academy, Russian Foreign Ministry, Embassies of the Baltic states.
